At the Getty Center, we propose to deploy a range of quasi-models, half- gestures and precisely calibrated mistakes that will reconstitute and expand on the earlier conferences. Leaving behind the well-meaning, but often empty dexterity that has accompanied art’s “relational spaces,” the final conference/event will be dedicated to a pairing of academic labor and artistic practice that will strive to supply a self-generated historical context for its unfolding: a conference about a conference about a conference; a re-animating of the preceding proceedings; a transcription of our literal speed.
